Pondering Jeanne Mayo tweet, "Are you a PASSENGER in your own emotional life...or the DRIVER." Driving requires skills that you practice until your ability progressively improves. How to pass, how to make turns, overtake, when to stop, when to go, and even parking requires a driver with some skill level. A passenger doesn't get anywhere without a driver. A passenger is at the mercy of who is driving them.
There are some skills to be 'learned' both spiritually and practically. Make sure your learning comes from a good experienced instructor. An instructor/coach who has navigated well the roads of emotional mountains, pot holes, detours, and the deserts. Often it is experience which helps us to see more clearly. If you want to drive well, it takes practice. A wreck is not necessarily a reason to quit driving. Don't give up - get some help. Don't ignore the warning signs, the speed limits, or the rules of the road.
They are all good ways that will take you get to your desired destination.
